Kerry Drager








Artist Biography

Kerry Drager is a well-published photographer and author, and photo instructor. He has lived in Cambria since 2014, when he and his wife, landscape oil painter Mary Summers, relocated from Sacramento.

Kerry has authored or co-authored three photography how-to books, all published by Amphoto/Random House, as well as three nationally published photo-essay books. His 2016 picture book, "Coastal Visions," is his first venture into the world of self-publishing, and it focuses on the Cambria, Cayucos and San Simeon coastline.

Along with his work at the Cambria Center for the Arts, where he is the gallery co-director, Kerry also exhibits through the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art's "Art About Town" program.

Known for his friendly and engaging style, Kerry teaches two photography courses through Cuesta College's Community Programs: "Get Creative with Your Digital Camera" and "Creatively Seeing: Unlock Your Photographic Vision." He is also an instructor at The Arcanum's international online photo-mentoring school.

In addition, his work has appeared in national magazines, Hallmark Cards, Sierra Club Calendars and many other publications. Kerry has been profiled in Outdoor Photographer magazine and in the book The Photographer's Market Guide to Building Your Photography Business, and his website was spotlighted by Shutterbug magazine. In 2015, he was interviewed by Exhibitions Without Walls, an online organization for photographers and digital artists.
