Joe Josephs

Artist Biography

Joe Josephs' photography straddles two worlds - gritty NYC street images and landscape photographs. His life also straddles these two vastly different environments. A native of New York City, he now spends four months a year living on California's scenic Central Coast, photographing landscapes and nature. Back in NYC, his targets are the lively NYC street and subways scenes and the urban beauty of New York City's 843 acre backyard -- Central Park.

His photographs have been published in the New York Times and on CNN. His photograph of Hurricane Sandy's effect on NYC was displayed in The Museum of the City of New York and is now part of their permanent collection.

He is also a regular contributor to Visions Libres Magazine, a European Magazine dedicated to contemporary art and photography.

In July 2016 Mr. Josephs was the featured artist at the Cambria Center for the Arts. The show, 'From Street to Stream', showcased his two photographic worlds.
